Zero


Facts wich are generally or scientifc facts


  • Present Simple ➕ Present Simple

E.g:

1) If the weather is good, I go to the beach

2) If you mix yellow and blue, you get green



First


Promises, possible condition, advices and probable situation in the future


  • Present Simple ➕ will / won't + infinitive

E.g:

1) If it rains, we will cancel the trip

2) If you study, you will pass the exam



Second


Hypothetical condition, unreal


  • Past Simple ➕ would / wouldn´t +infinitive


E.g:

1) If I won the lottery, I would travel a lot

2) If you went to bed earlier, you wouldn't be so tired



Third


Imaginary condition, probable result in the past and regrets


  • Past Perfect ➕ (would / wouldn't) have + past participle


E.g:

1) If you had studied, you would have pass the exam

2) If the weather had been good, I would've gone to the beach



Mixed Conditional

mixing second & third

Third - Second:

Pesent resul of a past condition


  • Past Perfect ➕ Present Conditional (would / wouldn´t + verb( bare form))


E.g:

1) If I had listened to your advice, I wouldn´t be in the mess

2) If I had gone to university, I would be a doctor now


Second - Third:

Past result of a present condtion


  • Past Simple ➕ Perfect Conditional (would/wouldn´t + have + past participle)


E.g:

1) If I were a good cook, I would have invented them to dinner

2) If you weren´t such a poor dancer, you would have got a job in the chorus line in that musical
